Jori Competition 2019
Jori Competition 2019, was held at Karnghanta Vyayamshala in Varanasi during the Nag Panchami Festival also known as the Cobra Festival.

What are Jori?
The Jori is a pair of very heavy clubs (see below). Jori are one of the traditional pieces of training equipment in Hindu physical culture and are common in the Akhara (wrestlers gym) of northern India.
Jori Weight, Width and Height
Jori of various weights, widths and heights are used depending on the strength and skill level of the practitioner. Jori are swung two at a time behind the back for daily training and competitions.
There are four levels in Heavy Jori Competitions
- Level #4 – qualifier – the Jori weigh 18-22 kg each – no video
- Level #3 – the Jori weigh 25-27 kg each – RED
- Level #2 – the Jori weigh 29-32 kg each – GREEN
- Level #1 – the Jori weigh 35 kg upwards each – BLACK
