Paul Imada talks Basics
Paul Imada Kancho uses Indian Clubs and Gada Mace as part of in house training at the Shotokan Karate Centre, and I am very pleased to present this video ‘Paul Imada talks Basics’ of Indian Club training.
There are five sections in the Paul Imada talks Basics video
- Basic Indian Club Swinging exercises you can do with your hands.
- Two vertical planes, the shoulder plane and the frontal plane.
- Drop and throw technique for the heart-shaped swing.
- Improving your range of motion using the core.
- Breathing techniques for Indian Club Swinging.
I had the great pleasure of meeting Paul in Hawaii during my Indian Club World Tour 2013, where we discussed Indian Club and Gada Mace swinging in detail.
Paul Imada Kancho is the founder of the Shotokan Karate Centre.
With Shotokan karate as his base, Paul Imada Kancho also ventured into other martial arts because he felt that just knowing one style was too limiting and it left too many unanswered questions. Hungering for more, he expanded his knowledge to include Okinawa weaponry, Escrima, Ryukyu pressure points, Matsubayashi-Ryu, judo, tai chi, Muay Thai, boxing, and grappling. Having systematically taken all these disciplines, he has directed 4 decades of knowledge into his own style: Tsumuji-Ryu. Today, all his energies are spent on martial arts and the perfection of his developing style.
