Tabarzin Axes Body Cross
Weight 2.5lbs each, length 24″ inches featuring an off-centre balance point).
Exploring Upward & Downward Bodycross Movements
Body cross movements are swung onto planes, the frontal plane and the sagittal plane.
Tabarzin Axes Body Cross – Downward
The downward body cross movements are started with the axes held parallel overhead, from there the axes are swung downward and crossed so that the axe in the right hand passes the body on the left, and the axe in the left hand passes the body on the right.
Tabarzin Axes Body Cross – Upward
The upward body cross movements start from the floor and are swung up and crossed so that the axe in the right-hand passes the body on the left, and the axe in the left-hand passes the body on the right.
Tabarzin Axes Body Cross – Basic Swing is Parallels
To achieve this routine the basic swing is parallels to the left followed by parallels to the right.
Parallels to the Left
The parallels to the left section are swung in an asynchronous format.
Parallels to the Right
The parallels to the right section are swung in the windmill format, otherwise known as follow, where one club follows the other and is delayed by a half-circle.
Tabarzin Axes Body Cross – Blade Orientation
It is really surprising how much effort and attention has to be paid to the orientation of the axe blades. When you swing Indian Clubs they spin on their own axis when they are held correctly with a loose grip. This method cannot be used with an axe because of the asymmetry of the design and the blade in particular.
Adjust Grip Technique
The Indian Clubs grip technique has to be adjusted to hold the axe handles firmly and use the natural rotation of the arm to guide the blade through each swing.
The Body Cross for Indian Clubs
The Tabarzin Axes Body Cross movements can be swung very easily with Indian Clubs.
